Cast The ThunderCats Live Action Movie

(Info provided by Wikipedia)

ThunderCats is an animated TV series which was produced by Rankin-Bass that debuted in 1985, based on the characters created by writer, Tobin ''Ted'' Wolf. The programme follows the adventures of a group of humanoid feline & cat-like species. Their adversaries, the Mutants of Plun-Darr, lead by Mumm-Ra, hope to capture the Sword of Omens, which possesses the Eye of Thundera: the Thundercats source of power that is wielded by the Lord of the ThunderCats named Lion-O. The animation was provided by Japanese animation company, Pacific Animation Company. In total, four seasons of ThunderCats were made. In 2008-9, Warner Bros was in the process of creating a CGI animated ThunderCats movie, but it has since been put on (indefinite) hold and this was prompted after the live-action Speed Racer film, based on the 1960s Anime, received less than satisfactory critical reviews & failed to set the box office alight.

Waiching's Casting Choices:

Lion - O (Jake Gyllenhaal or Chris Hemsworth) - Chief leader and lord of the ThunderCats who possesses the Sword of Omens

Tygra (Hugh Jackman) - staunch, level-headed who is also gifted with mind power: the ability to create life-like illusions in other people's minds

Cheetara (Margot Robbie) - a warrior based on the cheetah & was the only adult female Thundercat member until the arrival of Pumyra. Has incredible speed and possesses a baton that extends into a bo staff

Panthro (Billy Blanks or Michael Jai White) - based on a panther, Panthro is physically strong and is a cunning warrior in combat relying on martial arts. He uses a pair of nunchucks with open away cat-paws. People have mentioned Vin Diesel and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Terry Crews as well. But with a character in Panthro who is skilled in martial arts, I would have to go for an actor who is older yet highly proficient in martial arts. 2 actors, I had envisaged are now tai-bo instructor Billy Blanks, who made a name for himself in action B-movies in the late 1980s and 1990s & 2000s with Michael Jai White, Both are highly skilled martial artists

WilyKit (McKenna Grace of I, Tonya) & WilyKat (Jacob Tremblay of Wonder) - WilyKit & WilyKat are twin siblings with Kat as the older brother and kit as the younger sister

Jaga (Sir Ian McKellen, Christopher Lee or Terrence Stamp) - based on the Jaguar, he is known as Jaga the wise. He was the lord of the Thundercats but died of old age and reappears on Third Earth as a ghost to help guide Lion-O

Slithe (Andy Serkis) - leader of the Reptilians, a race of lizard men

Jackalman (Adrian Brody) - cautious and distrustful who leads a group of humanoid jackals in Jackalmen

Vultureman - Simon Pegg - chief inventor and know-it-all for the mutants and is inquisitive

Monkian (Ron Perlman) - eavesdropper and leader of the Simians, a race of ape men

Mumm-Ra (Hugo Weaving) - chief villain and antagonist of the ThunderCats and self-proclaimed ''ever-living source of evil''

Snarf - the voice of Spongebob Squarepants Tom Kenny?, Snarf in CGI form

Lynx-O (Ken Watanabe) - heat and fire left him permanently blind, which is denoted by his Orange coloured eyes. The injury meant he had to hone his other senses such as touch, taste, smell and despite being visually impaired, Lynx-O is still a formidable fighter

Pumyra (Milla Jovovich) - third female Thunderian alongside Cheetara and WilyKit and is based on the puma. Very agile and uses a whipcord that resembles a cat's tail that shoots out pellets and spheres

Bengali (Orlando Bloom) - one of the two younger Thunderians named after the Bengali tiger and is fast and agile
