Mini Retro Review: The Dallas Connection (1994) #badmovies

The Dallas Connection
1994
Action

This plastic-y cheapo knock-off of popular and well-known 1980s and 1990s action movies such as Rambo and Commando is filled to the brim with action sequences so poor - yet still mildly entertaining and puts a smile on my face, as well as some hammy dialogue as the actors play up to the cameras. Scientists are murdered by attractive looking women, including one played by Julie Strain, who reminds me a little of Fran Drescher (The Nanny) but with a nicer sounding voice and bigger boobs with a crack team of agents on their trail. & oh did I forget the occasional softcore nude sex scenes, which in this instance doesn't feel as much tacked on, in contrast to other action movies. Almost everyone in this film but for the Asian villain looks attractive with large breasts for the girls and huge muscles & pecs for the guys. The fight and action sequences are adequate for this type of low-budget flick. The screenplay is silly but somewhat fun, although the pacing is a bit too slow, the performances are as expected for a Z-movie and it is good to see Sidaris focus a lot more on the plot and less so on the sex scenes, which really just prop up the movie. So, but for 1 or 2 lull scenes, you could say I got some enjoyment out of this one.

Is It Worth Watching?

I didn't mind this one. It's silly in places but it's an action film given the Sidaris Z-movie treatment - sex and action aplenty - that shouldn't be taken seriously and yet it was still entertaining in places. It was so bad it's good.

Overall:
