Mini Retro Review: The Dark Dancer (1995) #badmovies

The Dark Dancer
1995
Erotic Thriller

The film opens up with a couple and a young woman and a husband who sleeps with her and the wife finds out and kills him. A psychologist (Shannon Tweed) masquerades as a stripper and finds sexual fulfilment as a dancer. No sooner does this catch the attention of a student of hers who becomes infatuated with her. She faces a dilemma when a mysterious killer stalks her. The Dark Dancer is a surprisingly watchable and engrossing erotic thriller filled with your usual occasional erotic sex scenes, right from the get-go that operates as a standard serial killer fest. The script isn't too shabby, performances are all right, the characters are varied (the hunky student, the British cop, the cougar lover, the crazed killer with the scar) and it has some interesting twists, involving the philandering boyfriend of Tweed's character, and one right at the end that I never saw coming.

Is It Worth Watching?
