Mini Movie Review: Behaving Badly (2014) #badmovies

Behaving Badly
2014
Comedy

A teenager would do anything to win the heart of his girlfriend, even if it means seducing his best friend's cougar mother. As much as people want to lay the blame on the producers for greenlighting dirge such as this, most of it should go to the likes of Mary-Louise Parker, Selena Gomez, Dylan McDermott and Elisabeth Shue: so-called established Hollywood actors, of whom ought to have known better, although but for the exception of Selena, I guess so-called has-beens and former 'stars' would accept anything, even one as wretched as this, just for the pay cheque. For former Oscar nominee Shue, this is the sheer lowest of the low of her career and one whereby despite the successes in Back To The Future 2 and 3, Leaving Las Vegas, Soapdish and Adventures in Babysitting, her movie career has been underwhelming and it seems as though she accepts any bad movie (another being the 2018 remake of Death Wish). It tries to be part - The Graduate with the older woman and mother falling for the younger guy but fails. Even though this is aimed at teens, this is still a mean-spirited, crude and vulgar offering and whilst I am not too offended by the cursing (F-words, C-words, B-words etc), here it is overused and most of it was offputting. Was made in 2012, but it sat on the shelves for 2 years. Acting revolves around uttering asinine dialogue and cursing their mouths off and spewing unfunny lines. & I didn't laugh. Behaving Badly is further proof how comedy in film has died and modern comedy movies just don't and never will work for me. I could only endure 20 mins of this atrocity before I turned it off. A travesty if ever there was one in 2014, and this is it. This is cancer.

Is It Worth Watching?

Dear goodness, no
