Mini Retro Review: Blood & Bone (2009) #b(ad)movies

Blood & Bone
2009
Action/Martial Arts

Both Michael Jai White and Scott Adkins are terrific martial artists who have made a career out of acting, and in particular in the action genre of films; however, their talents are gone to waste as they are reduced to straight-to-DVD offerings such as this one. Blood and Bone isn't necessarily a bad film: but take away Jai White and this movie just isn't that watchable. He is super quick and his punches and kicks strike fear against any opponent - yet the story is ordinary, trite with some terrible dialogue consisting of F-words, the direction isn't that good and with Dante, formerly of Hook-fame, effing and blinding as he plays an annoying little promoter.

Is It Worth Watching?

It's all right I guess... for a low budget action flick; the action, which is rather good at times & thanks to Jai White himself, saves it from being completely awful. Otherwise, there are countless other better movies of this type, elsewhere.
